Dog Walker + Pet Sitter
Philadelphia Pet Care Company provides professional dog walking, cat sitting, and overnight pet care in center city and west Philadelphia. Our caregivers understand the importance of working as a team. There is not doubt, that team work is essential for high quality, consistent pet care. To work for PPCC, you must value each pet as an individual and cultivate trusting relationships with their humans.
We hire part-time caregivers who perform both dog walking and cat/small animal sitting. This is an opportunity to enjoy the rewarding experience of working with pets, with the freedom of working outside, walking and cycling in the city.
The hours for the position are part time, however you can take on more work if you have the availability, commitment and positive client feedback. The total number of assigned services builds based on job performance and your availability. This position can definitely grow with the right candidate.
Peak Availability: Monday through Friday. Minimum 9am until 2pm – Or – 11am – 4pm.
Off-Peak Availability: Mornings, evenings, and weekend services are spread out off- peak work evenly.
Confident dog handler: You must be comfortable with dogs of varying sizes and energy levels.
8 Month commitment (or longer): No upcoming vacations or availability changes.
Familiar with dog walking gear: Including harnesses, martingale collars, prong collars, slip leads.
Smartphone with data plan: We use the Time to Pet app
Bike or Care: We recommend a bike/scooter due to parking fees
Mature and reliable: Responsive communicator who is punctual
Strong time management skills: Arrival times to pet services must be within the 2 hour window.
Positive attitude: With pet parents and fellow caregivers. Client first attitude.
Familiarity with Philadelphia: And you can get around quickly.
Committed to teamwork: You are happy to cover services when another team member is sick or off.
